When people are faced with difficulties in life, we are presented with a beautiful opportunity to flourish in unimaginable ways. At Rise Wellness Group, our team of dedicated Houston mental health therapists believes in the resilient spirit within each individual to overcome obstacles. There are times, however, when it can be very difficult to connect with that resilient spirit. Reaching out for support can be one of the healthiest investments you make in yourself. It is my privilege to serve clients during their most challenging times and witness their growth.
As a proud Houstonian, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Houston and a Master of Counseling from Houston Baptist University. Since 2014, I have practiced as a Licensed Professional Counselor in private practice. Additionally, I am licensed to supervise and train other therapists in Texas.I have been trained in numerous therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Therapeutic Yoga, and many more. I am a fully trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) trauma therapist and well versed in somatic experiencing practices to compliment EMDR through healing trauma in our bodies.
I operate a general practice, giving me the ability to see individuals and families of all ages including individuals struggling with trauma, shame, anxiety, depression, self–esteem, divorce, and life adjustments of all types. I very much enjoy, yes enjoy, working with teenagers and young adults during the complicated and difficult transition to adulthood.
My favorite things in the world are spending time with the loves of my life, my husband and my sassy and smart daughter.

I am fully trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), Neurofeedback, and Biofeedback. As a certified Prepare-Enrich facilitator, I have also received extensive training in Play Therapy. I incorporate mindfulness, relaxation, CBT, art, and faith-based interventions as appropriate.
I am joyfully and peacefully married to my best friend and partner, Winston. Together, we have three daughters, a son-in-law, and two granddaughters who inspire us daily.

M.Ed, LPC
Let me start by saying, I truly love what I do. My role is to walk alongside my clients, lighten their burdens, and equip them with tools to lead more fulfilling lives. I believe our past and present experiences shape how we interact with life and engage with the world. Unfortunately, these experiences can sometimes hold us back from achieving what we truly want and shaping our desired relationships and lives. Therapy offers a space to grow, find better communication methods, and address challenging patterns. If you feel I’m the right fit, I would be honored to support you on this journey.
I work with clients ranging from adolescents to seniors, addressing various concerns and therapy goals. These include anxiety, boundary setting, depression, coping skills, divorce, grief, life transitions, relationships, self-esteem, stress, trauma, and PTSD. I tailor my approach to each client’s needs, integrating different therapeutic methods to support their progress. As a fully trained EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) practitioner, I incorporate this technique to help clients overcome unhelpful thoughts and process distressing events.
My path to this career involved several meaningful experiences that ultimately enriched my counseling practice. I bring an extensive background in K-12 and higher education, which preceded my counseling work. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from The University of Texas at San Antonio and a Master of Education in Counselor Education from Houston Baptist University. I am an active member of the Texas Counseling Association (TCA) and the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA).
Finding the right counselor can be challenging, and I understand this from personal experience. It is essential to find someone who truly fits your unique needs. I would be delighted to meet with you and explore whether I am the right fit for your journey.
